Job Description: Azure L2 Engineer

Position : Azure Level 2 Support Engineer

Job Summary: The Azure Level 2 Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for Azure cloud services and solutions. They will handle escalated issues from Level 1 support and work closely with Level 3 support and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. The engineer will also assist in managing and monitoring Azure environments and ensure the highest level of service availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

·Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and other Azure resources.

·Handle escalated incidents and service requests from Level 1 ssupport and provide timely and effective solutions.

·Collaborate with Level 3 support and engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and contribute to problem resolution.

·Monitor Azure infrastructure, services, and applications to identify and address performance or availability issues.

·Perform regular maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and backups, to ensure the stability and security of Azure environments.

·Analyze system logs, event logs, and other monitoring data to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

·Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions to build a knowledge base and improve the efficiency of support operations.

·Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical issues and incidents.

Qualifications and Skills:

·Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

·Proven experience working with Azure cloud services and solutions.

·Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure components, including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and Azure Active Directory.

·Familiarity with Azure monitoring and management tools, such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Automation.

·Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing.

·Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and experience with automation tools.

·Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

·Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.

·Relevant certifications like Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Associate are a plus.

·Check VM replication and RPO status as per DR process.

·Azure Cloud Monitoring & Event Management using tools

·Monitoring of cloud spend

·Creation, deletion, and modification of workloads as required on Azure

·Troubleshooting authentication issues on cloud

·Monitoring storage arrays on Azure as per inventory for alerts or space utilization

·Cloud backups

·Periodic clean-up and reclamation of cloud resources

·Following are the activities from an Azure Site Recovery perspective:

·Check process server health

·Check VM replication and RPO status as per DR process

·Quarterly failover test for each process server

·Review list of replicated VMs with relevant app SMEs to verify it is still what they need for DR as per DR process

·Update agents (as required)
