OverviewThe HMC(Horizontal Machining Center) Setter Programmer plays a crucialrole in the manufacturing process by setting up and programming HMCmachines to produce precision parts. They are responsible forensuring that the machines are properly set up operated andmaintained to meet production targets and qualitystandards.Keyresponsibilities
  • Set up HMC machinesaccording to job specifications andblueprints.
  • Program HMC machines using CAMsoftware to achieve precise cuts anddimensions.
  • Operate and monitor HMC machines toensure smooth production processes.
  • Inspectworkpieces to verify conformance to specifications using precisionmeasuring instruments.
  • Perform routinemaintenance on HMC machines to ensure optimalperformance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issueswith HMC machines to minimizedowntime.
  • Collaborate with engineering andproduction teams to optimize machiningprocesses.
  • Adhere to safety and qualityregulations in all machiningoperations.
  • Maintain inventory of tooling andmaterials required for HMC operations.
  • Trainand mentor junior operators on HMC machine setup andprogramming.
Requiredqualifications
  • Proven experience asan HMC Setter Programmer or similar role in a manufacturingenvironment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming andCAM software for HMC machines.
  • Strongunderstanding of machining principles tooling andmaterials.
  • Ability to read and interpretblueprints and technical drawings.
  • Goodknowledge of precision measuring instruments such as micrometersand calipers.
  • Solid troubleshooting andproblemsolving skills related to HMCoperations.
  • Attention to detail and commitmentto producing highquality workpieces.
  • Excellentcommunication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectivelywith the production team.
  • Physical enduranceand dexterity to perform machine setup and operationtasks.
  • Associates degree or apprenticeship inCNC machining or a related field.
