Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To plan and oversee all engineering work at the plant - mechanical, electrical and instrumentation - including preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance.
  • To oversee all civil and fabrication work and workshop and utilities.
  • Provide critical inputs to the Unit In-Charge for preparing the engineering / maintenance budget for the plant focusing on infrastructure requirement, repair, maintenance and spare and manpower requirement
  • Develop the annual maintenance schedule and fabrication plan and cascade it to monthly and weekly schedules
  • Optimize resource utilization to adhere to the maintenance schedule and fabrication plans, including managing variances in the production plan
  • Provide feedback on plant condition, requirement for machine up-gradation / replacement, new installation in order to achieve the company's objective
  • Plan and oversee installation/erection of new machinery and equipment in the plant and ensure timely completion of the same
  • Plan and oversee all engineering work in the staff colony adjoining the plant.
  • Explore means for cost control, higher up-time of equipment, automation etc. in various operations
  • Monitor the inventory levels at the store and escalate requirements to the concerned authority
  • Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements pertaining to machinery installation, up-gradation and safety equipment
  • Investigate instances of unplanned breakdowns, prepare report on the causes of the breakdown and brief about the remedial action taken to restore the normal production activity
  • Introduce quality norms and standards and ensure adherence to the same.
