The Cloud Security Engineer will assist with the design, deployment, and operationalization of Azure, AWS, and GCP security posture of UnitedHealth Group, with a focus on enabling effective and efficient incident response. This role will be a primary contributor to the Cloud Alignment Team that governs enterprise-wide cloud security strategy, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. The ideal Cloud Security Engineer candidate will have solid interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, and have a desire to maintain enterprise-wide visibility to initiatives related to cloud-based technologies and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

Working with internal cyber defense, security engineering teams, and business customers to produce meaningful cybersecurity defensesInteract with internal security partners and workload owners to enhance cloud security capabilities and help develop custom solutions to security gapsIdentify recurring problems and automated solutions to help scale and expandRepresent cloud security engineering in enterprise-wide leadership groups focused on cloud initiativesWork effectively across security, engineering, and architecture functions within the organization to affect change and enhance security strategies and postureDesign and develop strategies for security logging and monitoring that solve security and engineering customers' needsIdentify methods to implement or modify security solutions to better protect the enterprise from cyber threatsProactively explore emerging technologies and their potential impact on security teams, from the perspective of securing and protecting those technologiesRecommend and coordinate security strategies across teams via coordination with senior leadershipComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of total experience2+ years of experience in cybersecurity defense and security operations2+ years of experience network engineering and architecture or with threats and vulnerability testing, risk assessments, and security compliance2+ years of experience implementing security solutions within Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experienceExperience working with the cybersecurity challenges of a global businessExpert knowledge in cloud technology, including security architecture, DevOps practices, or serverless infrastructureExpert knowledge in information technology, including cloud service providers, networking, architecture, protocols, file systems and operating systems
