Position overview

The Director of Operations willlead all core support functions at MAP to achieve itsorganisational objectives. The incumbent will play a crucial rolein overseeing the operational aspects of the organisation andensuring the smooth running of daytoday activities and will beresponsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of alloperational aspects i.e. Finance People & Culture and FacilityManagement. This role requires strong leadership management skillsstrategic planning expertise a passion for our mission and theability to lead a diverse team in a fastpaced environment.

Key Roles andResponsibilities

Strategic Planning andCollaboration:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implementstrategic plans and initiatives to achieve organisational goals.
  • Provide input and recommendations onoperations strategies policies and plans affecting theorganisation.
  • Foster crossdepartmentalcollaboration and communication between different stakeholders todrive operational excellence and achieve organisational objectives.Facilitate a continuous learning culture at MAP by providing thenecessary operationalsupport.

Finance andProcurement:

  • Work incollaboration with the accounting team to implement properaccounting and reporting structure for the organisation.
  • Monitor finance compliance to internal andexternal (donor and government) rules and regulations and reviewreports to donors to ensure adherence to workplans and budgets;maintain control on operations budget and identify any exceptionsor possible implications of under / over spending in a timelymanner.
  • Maintain oversight on financial andprocurement activities i.e. monthly quarterly and annual reports tomonitor evaluate and optimise cash flow variances and liquidity.Oversee the legal grants and contracts functions to streamlineprocesses and guide the team concerning current regulatoryrequirements focusing on FCRA. Coordinate and/ or lead all donorstatutory and internal audits with the relevant programme andoperations functionaries at MAP.

People and CultureManagement:

  • Providesupport to the management team in the development of an effectivehuman resource strategy.
  • Supervision of theHuman Resources team.
  • Foster a positiveorganisational culture and employee engagement through effectiveleadership and communication.
  • Develop andmaintain organisationspecific policies and procedures in compliancewith organisation management frameworks and local laws.

Compliance and OtherRelated Tasks:

  • Address all operational regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Act as a focal point to interact with vendorsservice providers and other external stakeholders to supportoperational objectives.
  • Represent theorganisation in meetings conferences and other forums related tooperations and organisational strategy.
  • Anyother task assigned by Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications andExperience

  • Postgraduate degree in Business Administration Finance AccountingHuman Resources or related field or other comparable educationalqualification; Minimum 810 years relevant work experiencepreferably with an international or local NGO with at least 6 yearsof demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Background of working with issues such as access to justicemigration and/or gender based violence is desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully leadingoperational functions and managing diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgetingfinancial analysis and grant management experience.
  • Knowledge of Income Tax FCRA GST and labourregulations.
  • Experience working with externalauditors compliance and regulatory oversight. Excellentcommunication (written and verbal) negotiation and interpersonalskills. Ability to think strategically solve problems creativelyand drive results in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity attention to detail andunderstanding of confidentiality and ethics is essential.
  • Open to Indian citizensonly.
