Job Description:

Job Summary
Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing, and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans.


Responsibilities:

  • Proactive monitoring using Oracle Management Cloud (OMC), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for availability of all databases, listeners, and related services.
  • Manage & Support Services on DBCS services.
  • Manage Database Storage
  • Monitoring of tablespaces, extent size, database statistics, SQL profile
  • Monitoring of Database growth and capacity planning
  • Manage User/Schema creation and access management.
  • Configure/monitor database backups and perform recoveries as needed.
  • Perform database cloning/refresh activities – 1 in a month, 5 environments.
  • Apply proactive security/on-request database patches.
  • Configure/Test Disaster Recovery database configurations.
  • Monitoring of disaster recovery servers & other related services
  • Monitoring of scheduled Jobs
  • Support Compliance and Audit requests made by UPS.
  • Database Audit & Security administration and management (E.g. OMC, OEM, DataSafe, etc. ….)
  • Quarterly Patches / Critical Patches and other minor patches
  • Implementation of Database best practices
  • Database Support to PS-Admin (kill session, Job Failure/schedule, Code deployments or Object compile.
  • Performance tuning for long running jobs, Slowness in executing a program or a job.
  • Work with Oracle support on a 24x7 basis on issues and software bugs for Production P1 issues


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a PeopleSoft Oracle Database Administrator

Skills:

  • Exhibit a high-level of attention to detail, possess the ability to multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain documentation, manuals, and produce reports.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner by working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and processes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with MS Office tools such as Excel to assist with data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c)
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft architecture, performance tuning, and backup and recovery
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft patching and upgrade processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in the annual full failover from primary to secondary data center.
