Our goal is to significantly increase the investments in Asia, and we are looking for a fantastic team member to join us on this journey. The position will be based in India, but you should expect moderate travel in the region.

The Job

Key responsibilities/ Main tasks in daily business:

As a senior investment professional, you will:

  • Together with the Head of Asia, contribute to the development and implementation of the investment strategy for India.
  • Take the lead in identifying and originating investment opportunities in the Indian market sector, including the scoping, managing the content, due diligence, structuring, negotiations, management of deal-related external 3rd party vendors and other workstreams related to investments and portfolio companies.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of the investment recommendation to the Investment Committee.
  • Work closely with the management teams of the prospective investment opportunities during the due diligence process. The key diligence questions are formulated and addressed through review of scientific literature, database searches and interviews with key opinion leaders or industry experts.
  • The outcome is documented in reports and presentations, and the analysis provides the background for prioritising investment opportunities.
  • Be expected to leverage your financial and commercial skills and take the lead to finalize the investment recommendations.
  • Manage portfolio of investments, including staying abreast of company, industry, and regulatory developments.
  • Work closely with portfolio companies on value creation, i.e. provide guidance on the implementation of growth strategies, operational improvements etc.
  • Lead, mentor and develop junior investment professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative, respective and inclusion environment.
  • Contribute towards the build out of the Novo Holdings footprint and brand equity in Asia.

Further to this, you will collaborate closely on investment activities with our teams within Asia as well as with other departments and teams located in San Francisco, Boston, London and Copenhagen

In this role, you will be reporting to the Managing Partner, Head of Asia.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A bachelor's degree or beyond from a top-tier institution.
  • At least 10 years’ relevant working experience at a top investment bank, private equity or investment firm, and have a strong interest in life sciences and healthcare investments.
  • Proven track record of successful investment decisions and portfolio management.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative mind-set.
  • Have a strong commercial capability, and the ability to manage the complexity of working with company founders and management teams on value creation.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Previous Industry and investment expertise within healthcare IT, pharma services, MedTech, and biotech is a plus.
