We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Android Open Source Project Engineer [AOSP Engineer] to join our dynamic and innovative team in Pune.

Position Overview: As a Senior AOSP Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing Android-based solutions that span the entire stack—from applications to the lower-level system components. Your deep expertise in Android OS, Board Support Package (BSP), Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), and Linux-based OS will be critical in ensuring the seamless integration and performance of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Stack Development: Lead the development and customization of Android-based products using the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) framework, encompassing all layers from application to lower-level system components.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, hardware engineers, and QA teams to define, design, and implement innovative features and enhancements.

  • System Optimization: Design and implement system-level code in C/C++ and/or Java to optimize performance, scalability, and resource utilization on various Android devices.

  • BSP Development: Develop and customize the Board Support Package (BSP) to enable seamless hardware-software integration.

  • HAL Implementation: Implement and optimize the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) for various hardware components, ensuring smooth communication between hardware and the Android OS.

  • Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce best practices for maintaining high code quality and consistency across the team.

  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Android applications, BSP, HAL, and AOSP/Linux-user space components.

  • Innovation & Research: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Continuously research and explore new techniques to enhance the performance and efficiency of our Android-based products.

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Android application development, with extensive exposure to AOSP, BSP, and HAL.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java programming.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), Android OS, and the Android ecosystem.
    • Experience with Board Support Package (BSP) development and hardware-software integration.
    • Expertise in implementing and optimizing the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
    • Strong understanding of Linux-based OS and system-level programming.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in computer science, data analyst, AI/ML, data engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Proven experience in MLOps, DevOps, Data Engineering, or a similar role with a demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and take initiative. Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and data science principles. Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn. Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly those involving machine learning workflows. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data manipulation/analysis libraries like pandas, NumPy, and SQL databases. Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS/EC2, GCP, or Azure and containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of addressing and resolving complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Good to have experience with PaLM, LLaMA models, (E.g. Optimizations with 7B, 13B, 33B, and 65B parameters), Previous experience with LAMDA. HumanEval etc.
