ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The United Nations World Food Programme is the worlds largest humanitarian organization that is committed to saving lives in emergencies and changing lives through sustainable development. WFP is working with countries around the world, supporting governments in their efforts to reach the targets under Sustainable Development Goal 2 improving access to food, ending all forms of malnutrition, improving incomes, and promoting sustainable agriculture.
WFP conducts innovative pilots to augment the food safety net programmes of India and generate credible evidence through monitoring and evaluation to help government take evidence-based scale-up decisions. WFP also conducts the food and nutrition security analysis using its Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) tools and other research to fill the critical evidence gaps in the domain of food security and nutrition in India.
RAM and Evaluation Unit in India is a cross-cutting unit working with all Strategic Outcomes and has specific responsibilities related to supporting the planning and review process, the monitoring and evaluation activities, supporting knowledge management, undertaking and institutionalization of food security analyses as a part of VAM activities and conducting need-based research to support advocacy.
WFP India Country Office is looking for a dynamic Senior Programme Associate with a strong expertise and experience in the field of Monitoring, Evaluation and Research to support its country strategic programme. Jobholders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed.
