Job Summary


An Integration Lead must be technically skilled and capable of managing multiple integration initiatives simultaneously. They play a crucial role in ensuring that different systems and software within an organization work together seamlessly, supporting operational efficiency and strategic objectives.

An Integration Lead is responsible for overseeing the integration of software systems and components across an organisation, ensuring that system architectures work seamlessly together to achieve business goals. This role combines elements of project management, technical expertise, and team coordination. Here is a detailed outline of the typical responsibilities, skills, qualifications, and experience required for an Integration Lead:

Responsibilities

1.      System Integration Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive integration strategy that aligns with organisational objectives, focusing on minimizing disruptions to existing processes while maximizing system efficiency.

2.      Project Management: Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for integration projects. Organise, coordinate, and supervise the activities of development teams to ensure timely delivery of integration solutions.

3.      Technical Supervision: Provide technical direction and support during the design, development, and implementation phases of integration. Ensure the compatibility and functionality of various systems.

4.      Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define integration requirements and communicate progress and challenges. Ensure that integration solutions meet business needs and expectations.

5.      Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee the creation and implementation of detailed test plans to ensure the stability and performance of integrated systems. Address any issues identified during testing.

6.      Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration architectures and processes. Ensure all integration activities comply with company policies and external regulations.

7.      Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of integration strategies and make adjustments as necessary. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in technology to continually enhance integration practices.

 

Skills and Qualifications

-        Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of software development and system integration principles.

-        Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.

-        Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working through complex issues and devising effective solutions.

-        Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for working with cross-functional teams and explaining technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

-        Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and quickly integrate new concepts into ongoing projects.

-        Advanced user in Jira/Confluence

 

Experience

-        Professional Experience: Generally, 5+ years of experience in system integration, software development, or a related field with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

-        Educational Background: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field.

 

Certifications (Optional)

-        Certified SOA Architect

-        Project Management Professional (PMP)

-        Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), especially if the organization uses Agile methodologies.
