PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development,

performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance

objectives for assigned department.

· Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the

most effective use of resources and equipment.

· Manage budget and expenditures.

· Responsible for one area of manufacturing.

· Responsible for strong communication throughout departments as well as conveying

information to those on shift.

· Ensure Work Orders and shipments are completed on time by working with the lead persons

in each department.

· Coordinate with Production Control and Scheduling to ensure work is completed in proper

sequence.

· Investigate and provide recommended corrective action for quality rejects as required.

· Coordinate necessary cross training for all employees by working with lead people.

· Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

· Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

· Machine Shop Manager is responsible for overall production and scheduling for Machine

Shop resources & will oversee Supervisors, Leadmens, Operators, machinists etc.

· Assure maximum utilization of resources to control the key variable areas within the budget

of expendable supplies, non-expendable supplies, direct hours, and indirect hours.

· Allocate the machine shop resources to realize the production build plan for the short and

long term through capital equipment recommendations and the maintenance of a skilled

work force.

· In conjunction with department supervisors, ensure that job planning/tooling is available to

maintain production schedules and machine utilization.

· Develop the production team to meet long term growth objectives while maintaining an

environment, which permits maximum personal growth consistent with individual’s

performance.

· In conjunction with the Safety Manager, continually develop, implement, and maintain

improved safety programs which reduce accident severity and frequency rates as a percent of

hours worked.

· In conjunction with Quality Assurance Department, in still a quality-oriented attitude

throughout the production organization which results in improved quality and reduced

scrap/rework rates.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

· Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial engineering with minimum

10years working experience in Manufacturing.

· 3+ years of related supervisor/managerial experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Knowledge of ERP System

· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite of products.

· Strong communication in English (Both Verbal and Written)

· Strong time management and analytical skills.

· Ability to motivate & lead Team with strong people management Skills

· knowledge and application of ISO, API systems & manufacturing standards is preferred.

· Ability to integrate core values, integrity, and accountability throughout all organizational and

business practices.

· Ability to interpret information with which to make business decisions and recommendations

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

· Kaizen, 5S & process improvement processes in production department.

· Participate in Root cause analysis & corrective action process.

· Knowledge of various machining processes, production planning,

· Knowledge of tool selection, Jigs Fixture, CNC programming, CAD/CAM Software is preferred.
