Systems Operations Engineer

This is a remote position.
We are seeking aSystems Operations Engineer with deep knowledge of Kubernetes andAWS. The ideal band member will play a crucial role in thearchitecture deployment and management of our cloud infrastructurecontainerized applications and mobile device management (MDM). Thisrole requires someone who can actively design implement andmaintain complex systems while ensuring their scalabilityperformance and security.KeyResponsibilities:
- Designdeploy and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWSensuring high availability and disasterrecovery.
- Architect manage andoptimize Kubernetes clusters for deploying containerizedapplications including implementing best practices for scalingmonitoring and securing theclusters.
- Develop automationscripts and tools using languages such as Python Bash or Terraformto streamline operations and reduce manualintervention.
- Put in placecomprehensive monitoring solutions to track system performanceidentify bottlenecks and optimize resources forcosteffectiveness.
- Implement bestpractices conduct regular security assessments and ensurecompliance with relevant regulations to ensure cloud infrastructuresecurity and DistroKidowneddevices.
- Work closely withdevelopment teams for continuous integration/continuous deployment(CI/CD) pipeline troubleshoot issues and provide operationalassistance.
- Monitor and optimizeAWS resource usage and costs employ scaling policies and choose theappropriate services and configurations to meet performance needseconomically.
- Develop and maintaindisaster recovery plans leveraging AWS capabilities for backup andreplication to ensure businesscontinuity.
- Maintain systemsprocesses and procedures documentation to ensure knowledge transferand operationalconsistency.
- Provide technicalleadership and mentorship to junior engineers fostering a cultureof continuous learning andimprovement.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in systems operationsfocusing on cloud infrastructure and containerizedenvironments.
- Proven experiencewith AWS services (EC2 S3 RDS IAM VPC etc.) and Kubernetes inproduction environments.
- Experiencewith infrastructureascode tools such as Terraform CloudFormation orAnsible.
- Strong knowledge ofLinux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (PythonGo etc.).
- Experience with CI/CDtools like Jenkins Bitbucket or similar.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus GrafanaCloudWatch) and logging solutions (Datadog ELKFluentd).
