POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Systems Engineer configures, develops, tests, and maintains applications and systems impacting global users. This role needs to have experience in supporting a variety of applications and systems, including Oracle EBS, Snowflake data warehouse (SQL), PowerBI. Experience with E2Open or other SNOP (Demand and Supply Planning) tools and BizTalk is welcomed, not mandatory. Responsibilities include documenting requirements, deriving insights from data, suggesting solutions for streamlining dataflow processes, and providing technical support to internal and external users and other IT departments globally.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Effectively monitor ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) jobs and interfaces, utilizing skills in automated monitoring techniques to drive towards efficient and automated monitoring processes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting, making minor ETL changes, and creating ETL jobs to ensure smooth dataflow, operation, and functionality of the system.
  • Leverage experience in B2B (business-to-business) collaborations to provide support and facilitate onboarding processes with internal and external ERP systems, ensuring seamless and efficient collaborations.
  • Apply experience in Oracle ERP development and advanced-level SQL expertise to provide technical guidance, support, and troubleshooting for ERP systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to established standards.
  • Effectively utilize technical project management skills to manage changes across multiple ERP systems, while strictly adhering to the Change and Release Management process.
  • Utilize 8D methodology to effectively address and resolve business process and system-related issues through problem statement, containment, root cause analysis, action plan implementation, prevention, and validation, while also documenting requirements and changes, supporting reporting, and testing, and ensuring compliance with controls and change management.
  • Demonstrate proactivity in generating and documenting daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring results, while driving towards automated reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams within Vertiv and software partners to ensure seamless end-to-end dataflow by addressing technical and functional interfaces, understanding, and resolving cross-functional issues, and fostering effective communication and coordination.
  • Leverage configuration skills to effectively execute or manage 3rd party software platforms, ensuring optimal configuration settings are in place to support business requirements and operational needs.
  • Thoroughly document process, code, and configuration changes, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation for future reference and maintaining accurate records of all changes made.
  • Maintain a high standard of work quality, foster a positive attitude, and contribute to a healthy and collaborative work environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of work experience in data engineering and standard SQL queries
  • 2+ years of work experience in design, development, testing and version control of business applications.
  • Strong background in EBS development with proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing EBS solutions for supply chain management.
  • Must be capable of functioning as both Analytics developer, Support Role, and Project Manager for small enhancement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Ability to learn new applications, methods and able to apply knowledge in practice. 
  • Must have agile, customer centric and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working in global corporation or international business environment is a plus.
  • Be able to support limited business travels.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Must be fluent in English and effectively communicate with global customers and differing cultures is required.
  • Ability to write and interpret reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and business customers.

 

REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems, involving many variables, in different situations.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to spot issues and identify patterns that may present risks or opportunities to projects.
