As a Senior UX Designer, you will work closely with various studio disciplines, design leadership, principle designers, strategists, product and business stakeholders to create compelling UI/UX designs for various features and experiences
Primary Responsibilities:
SME or Take ownership for a large feature or experienceBuild and effectively communicate the design vision with high quality visual artifacts such as wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, storyboards etc.Partner with research and strategy teams in the design and fielding of research studies, then translate user needs and research findings into usable design improvements and/or new opportunitiesInterpret insights (analytics, VoC, market feedback etc.) to anticipate user needs and proactively design innovative solutionsContinually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solving (Be the voice of the user in prioritization, new products and features)Lead discussion and critique of work, solicit requirements from stakeholders, be a key partner in helping deliver on the visionActively engaged in the team culture and contributing in learning and presentation opportunities across design organizationComfort in ambiguity and changing user needs with self-motivation mindset around solving complex problemsProvide design recommendations based on technical feasibility, usability findings, A11y, legal and design best practicesDemonstrates curiosity and growth mindset contributing to a product design environment that supports continuous learning and innovationLeverages best practice design principles and trends to contribute with insights and stellar user experiencesBe a trusted design partner in a cross functional team (designers, engineers, product, researchers etc.), delivery designs on time and to the highest qualityCollaborate and contribute reusable design components in partnership with Design System teamMakes research and design decisions that takes into health equity considerations (including but not limited to: disability status, health literacy levels, demographics, cultural backgrounds, etc.) to improve healthcare access for all membersWork on multiple projects at a timeComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience4+ years of hands on experience with information architecture, interaction design, ux design or graphic design4+ years of incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)4+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)2+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions2+ years of experience working in cross functional teams2+ years of experience presenting to stakeholdersAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
