Job Title: Ward Boy/Ward Attendant

Overview: As a Ward Boy or Ward Attendant you play a vitalrole in supporting the operations of a healthcare facility such ashospitals clinics or nursing homes. Your primary responsibilitiesinvolve providing assistance to nursing and medical staff indelivering patient care maintaining cleanliness and organizationwithin the ward and ensuring the comfort and safety ofpatients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Support: Assist patients withactivities of daily living such as bathing dressing toileting andambulation while respecting their privacy dignity and culturalpreferences.
  2. Transport: Safely transferpatients to and from various locations within the facilityincluding examination rooms operating theaters diagnostic imagingdepartments and rehabilitation areas.
  3. VitalSigns Monitoring: Assist healthcare providers in measuring andrecording patients' vital signs such as temperature pulserate respiratory rate and blood pressure using appropriateequipment and techniques.
  4. Bedside Assistance:Help patients with positioning turning and repositioning in bed toprevent pressure ulcers and promote comfort andcirculation.
  5. Environmental Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in patient rooms common areasand equipment storage areas following established infection controlprotocols and safety guidelines.
  6. SupplyManagement: Stock patient rooms and supply areas with essentialitems such as linens blankets towels toiletries and medicalsupplies ensuring adequate availability and properstorage.
  7. Equipment Handling: Assist with thesetup operation and maintenance of medical equipment and devicessuch as oxygen tanks suction machines IV pumps and patientmonitoring systems under the direction of qualifiedpersonnel.
  8. Patient Transport: Accompanypatients during transfers to other departments or externalfacilities providing reassurance comfort and assistance asneeded.
  9. Communication: Communicate effectivelywith patients families visitors and healthcare team membersconveying information accurately and promptly and reporting anyconcerns or observations to the appropriate personnel.
  10. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencysituations such as cardiac arrests falls or medical crisesfollowing established protocols and providing assistance tohealthcare providers as directed.
  11. Documentation: Record pertinent information such aspatient activities observations and interventions in accordancewith facility policies and procedures ensuring accuracy andcompleteness of documentation.
