As a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer, your role involves guiding the development of reporting standards and methodologies both within our team and across the entire organization. You will tackle complex issues related to our platforms and data, contributing significantly to the organization's progress. Your responsibilities include designing and advancing our approach to data as a product. This involves crafting compelling narratives using data, ensuring seamless integration across various systems, and maintaining high standards of data privacy, quality, and accessibility. You will also play a key role in bringing innovative concepts, patterns, and technologies to the table, all aimed at enhancing the experience of our customers and supporting our internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Provide expert level guidance, development and mentoring for DAT’s BI practiceActively develop reports on platforms such as: Tableau, Snowsight, Business Objects, AWS QuicksightActively develop reporting components to be utilized via API callsKnowledge of AWS - specifically QuicksightEquipping DAT teams to self-serve and develop, document and communicate methods and processes thereby enabling teamsGeneral DW modeling knowledge (kimball, inmon, data vault and concepts such as data mesh)Providing solutions for complex business problems, enabling insights that can empower better decision-makingTakes an active role in fostering a culture of learning and excellence

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline5+ years of relevant engineering experienceExpertise in BI Reporting Tools: Proficiency in developing reports using platforms like Tableau, Snowsight, Business Objects and AWS Quicksight. Your ability to leverage these tools to create insightful, actionable reports is crucial.Advanced Reporting Techniques: Experience in developing reporting components accessible via API calls, demonstrating your capability in integrating and automating BI solutionsIn-depth Knowledge of AWS and Snowflake: A strong understanding of AWS, specifically Quicksight, and deep knowledge of Snowflake, including aspects like modeling, performance optimization, Data Clustering, and Micro-partitionsTechnical aptitude with SQL, DBT, ETL tools such as Matillion, Alteryx and CI/CD experience (gitops, argocd, etc)Process Development and Documentation: Skills in developing, documenting, and communicating methods and processes for BI. This includes setting standards and best practices
for the broader team to followProblem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Adept at providing solutions for complex business problems and enabling insights that drive better decision-making. Your analytical skills will be
