Position Overview:

As a network engineer, your role will be to ensure sound delivery of technical services providing maximum uptime and exceptional client and customer service. This position requires learning the existing infrastructure, making sound technical decisions for complex systems, and helping deploy/support feature-functionality according to the business’s requirements. 

The successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience with multiple technology platforms, solid communication skills, work well within a team and across teams, and a desire to continue learning and strive for continual improvement.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting all network and system-related problemsOpening tickets to track and document the resolution of problems.Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, communication links, and routing protocols.Monitoring, analyzing, and resolving network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support organizations.Organize and document system states, configuration, inventories, processes, procedures (SOPs), and project plans.

Qualifications

Candidates will need to have a strong working knowledge of routing and switching, network design and implementation, network troubleshooting, network hardware configuration, and network performance tuning.Understanding of Cloud technologies as to how they relate to networking.Knowledge of communication protocols, specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IPTechnologies: Cisco IOS, Cisco Nexus OS, Cisco Umbrella, Meraki, QoS, VoIP, F5 Load-balancing technologiesCapable of working autonomously but know when to bring in the team to help out.Initiative-taker focused on business problem resolution and customer satisfaction.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both highly technical and non-technical peopleProcess driven with strong documentation skills, capable of following and composing process and procedure documentation.Ability to and motivated to learn modern technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with study in MIS or Information Technology related field is a plus.Cisco CCNA or higher is preferred.CompTIA Security+ is a plus.5+ Years minimum experience in a similar position or the ability to display equivalent core experience.
