Job Description – Supply Planner

Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on the smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and JV’s. The scope for Service Market Logistics includes Distribution Centre operations, Flow Optimization, Inventory Management, Customs & Trade as well as the development of logistics solutions to ensure the highest possible parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world. The Position: Supply Plannerrole within GTO SML DC Bangalore which supports ”end to-end” logistics in the Service Market Supply Chain. The primary focus is Planning, Procurement & Scheduling of After-market Parts for Group & Non-group Suppliers. The person should have knowledge of Materials Management, Supplier Management and Cross-functional working exposure.

The person is responsible to ensure the timely availability of parts from import & local suppliers by working through the entire supply chain and provide with the best overall service levels, meet & exceed established goals

ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the Material Control team to ensure accurate and timely procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.Support the development and maintenance of material planning and replenishment strategies to align with production schedules and customer requirements.Participate in the implementation of systems and processes for efficient material tracking, handling, and reporting.Coordinating with suppliers to confirm order details, lead times, and delivery schedules.Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate documentation and records related to material transactions and inventory management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure seamless material flow and availability.Support the evaluation and selection of suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Engage in continuous learning and skill development

The Role Holder needs to have the following functional skills to be able to deliver roles & responsibilities in efficient ways

Analytical Skills: Recognizing patterns in data, information, or events, drawing logical conclusions, and making recommendations for action Problem Solving/Decision Making: Taking a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles or resistance. Ability to decide on ownership/ responsibility of tasks.Flow thinking mindset (VPS/ Lean concepts)Digital Tools Utilization: Leverage various digital tools and software for tasks such as material tracking, supplier management, demand forecasting, and data analysis.

QUALIFICATION

University degree in engineering/ logistics/ business along with 3-4 Yrs relevant work experience.ERP Knowledge in Materials Management /WMS will have added advantage

GENERAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Proficiency in the English language is a must.Proven data management skills and experience with relevant applications e.g. Office 365 including Power Apps, Power BI, QlikView/Qlik sense or similar
