The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing high-value projects and a deep understanding of the oil & gas industry.

Position Summary: The Business Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business unit, including managing profit and loss (P&L), driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of projects valued over INR 5000 Crores. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in mechanical or chemical engineering and extensive experience in the oil & gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
    • Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • P&L Management:
    • Oversee the business unit’s financial performance, managing budgets, and ensuring profitability.
    • Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead the execution of large-scale cross-country pipeline projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
    • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure project success.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oil & gas sector.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance in all operations.
    • Implement best practices in project management, risk management, and supply chain management.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory bodies.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering. An MBA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with a significant portion of this experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects valued over INR 5000 Crores.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management and financial principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive change in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in cross-country pipeline projects is highly desirable.
