Role Summary

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the tax deducted from the members pensions has been reported to the HMRC and that each month we payover the correct amount of tax due. This will require analysis of the data and investigation into any client PAYE queries from the HMRC. The role also involves client projects relating to tax activities.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Demonstrate an understanding of, and support delivery with, Real Time Reporting Information (RTI)Delivering a range of reconciliation and analysis/investigation activities on payrolls, tax submission filesSupport payroll processes to ensure that these are delivered to schedule and accurately in line with systems member recordsEnsure that all tax file submissions are reconciled in line with payrolls and payments made to the HMRC Government Gateway and any non-UK tax reporting routes.Support the Payroll Control Technical Manager in contacting and responding to HMRC RTI (tax) queries and tax pay-over anomalies and work professionally with HMRCRespond to tax related queries and raise disputes with HMRC when data discrepancies arise between HMRC and EQComplete tax related activities when clients onboarding or exitWorking closely with team members and internal stakeholders to ensure key deadlines and SLA’s are met

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:

Knowledge of pension payroll and or UK or non-UK RTI PAYE taxGood attention to detail as the role will involve a considerable amount of checking of Spreadsheets / releasing payment notification filesBe a good communicator as the role involves engagement with stakeholders around the businessStrong organisational skills to be able to manage own priorities effectivelyExcellent skills in MS office skills, particularly excel and SQLAbility to work well under pressure and remain focused on delivering an excellent services when the team are in key peak activity
