Deputy Director- Finance

Leads & Manages A&M spend [$40MM], Brand P&Ls & Innovation financials for all the 8 categories for SA BU (Snacks, Beverages, Cereals, Convenience Foods, Grains, Bakeries, Fruit, Botswana). This role also leads financial development & tracking of all innovations across all the categories and represents finance in various innovation stage gate meetings. In South Africa, it is not that straightforward, we had a legacy upon acquiring Pioneer and hence scope and role levels been changing slowly and without bing bang communication to avoid issues with Gov. given the public commitment requirements. There are 6 categories and 10 sub-categories to be managed under this scope.
ResponsibilitiesThis role also leads financial development & tracking of all innovations across all the categories and represents finance in various innovation stage gate meetings
Leads A&M financial planning and reporting process and deliverables x-SA (Black swan taxonomy, spend optimisation etc) Role will be covering 34 brands with 52 sub-brands Partner with CMO and Category Marketing Leads to performance manage A&M and total marketing spend ROI optimisation (including direct and indirect “STB” spend) Lead NPD financial assessment reporting processes across SA to optimise commercialization decision making Leads and manages budgetary control on various A&M projects Works with A&M procurement team to ensure compliance of SOA and other procurement efficiencies Manage and optimise Brand P&Ls reporting processes and submissions across SA to opitimise portfolio and mix decision making Manage and develop team of Category Innovation and A&M analysts (matrix reports) across SA Categories Develop Category finance capability throughout marketing and finance teams across SA Manage and coordinate Sector financial planning and reporting submissions accurately and timely Lead financial analysis and trade-offs providing decision support and insights for IBP Portfolio Analysis Cycle Lead integration and alignment of A&M + innovation financial planning and reporting processes across SA Qualifications Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in commerce/business administration / economic with high level of Finance & Accounting Experience. CMA/MBA/CPA Finance is preferred Sound knowledge of financial systems (SAP, HFM, MS Office and Other financial reporting systems) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good understanding of business processes Strong technical knowledge and experience of both Management reporting and planning processes Experience in working with GBS (Preferred FMCG sector) will be an added advantageExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Arabic language
