Director IT Procurement

Who You Are:
This position will be in Hyderabad, India but you will be working closely with the team in the United States through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and our software. It is important that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. We are a fast-paced company that is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking team members who will share our vision for the future and work collaboratively to accomplish Base8 goals. We pride ourselves on providing superior service to our clients, which includes having attention to detail, following the processes in place, and being able to adapt to a variety of situations.
The ideal team member joining Base8 has strong communication skills in English, be flexible to work at night and/or on weekends and is a team player. High productivity and critical thinking are qualities that will help you succeed at Base8.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Strategic Planning:
oDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall business goals and objectives.
oCollaborate with IT leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and align procurement activities with IT initiatives.
•Vendor Management:
oIdentify and evaluate potential IT vendors and suppliers.
oNegotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
oEstablish and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.
•Cost Management:
oAnalyze market trends and conditions to ensure competitive pricing.
oImplement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and performance.
oMonitor and control procurement budgets.
•Compliance and Risk Management:
oEnsure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to IT procurement.
oAssess and manage risks associated with IT procurement activities.
oDevelop and implement processes to mitigate potential risks.
•Quality Assurance:
oEstablish and enforce quality standards for IT products and services.
oWork closely with IT teams to ensure that purchased solutions meet technical specifications and requirements.
•Team Leadership:
oLead and manage a team of procurement professionals.
oProvide guidance, training, and support to the procurement team.
oFoster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
•Contract Management:
oOversee the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation to execution and performance monitoring.
oEnsure that contracts are in compliance with organizational policies and standards.
•Technology Trends:
oStay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT.
oUnderstand the technology landscape to make informed procurement decisions.
•Continuous Improvement:
oIdentify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
oImplement best practices and leverage technology to streamline procurement processes.
•Communication Skills:
oEffectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
oPresent procurement strategies and results to executive leadership.
Requirements:
•In-depth experience in managing end-to-end IT Procurement across multiple subcategories including but not limited to Software, Hardware, Cloud, Outsourcing, etc.,
•Experience with e-procurement and supply chain systems
•A strong commercial skill with the ability to build long-term relationships with stakeholders in the business as well as key suppliers
•Experience in working within a technology/telecommunications business in the supply chain, specializing in creating business value through strategic partnership agreements
•Familiarity with Framework/Master Services Agreements
•Strong academic background is beneficial but not essential
•Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs, etc, and use of category management techniques in setting category plans
•Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills
•Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications, especially MS Excel
•Excellent communicator in written, verbal, and presenting skills
A successful Procurement Director in IT should have a strong background in procurement, a good understanding of IT technologies, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to align procurement activities with the overall business strategy. Keeping up with industry trends and fostering positive relationships with vendors are also crucial aspects of the role.
