Principal Applications Engineer – Automotive & Transportation (India)
The JKAI (Japan, Korea, ASEAN, and India) Customer Engagement Team in the NI TBU CCS (Transportation Business Unit, Customer Centric Solutions) organization under Test and Measurement business group in EMERSON has an immediate opening for a Principal Applications Engineer in India. He/she works as a Pre-sales Technical Consultant and a Solution Developer on customer delivery projects in the field of Automotive & Transportation domain, working with the local business team closely with NI’s Customers
The key objective of the Principal Applications Engineer is helping to generate/close the business and deliver customer-centric offerings with critical accountabilities for:
Execute on technical proof of concepts and demos Customer-specific application work, training, introduction, and consulting Identify technical challenges in projects as it relates to the customer outcome Collaborate with the customer to form and clarify technical outcome of the future state Attend customer meetings (on-site when applicable) to better understand customer challenges and roadblocks to success Ensure successful handshake and collaboration with Systems Engineering team Enable strategic partners in being successful in execution of Partner prime opportunity Build relationships and manage customer expectations on pre-sales support, project deliverables, and customer’s business outcomes through daily activity and regular communication Understand the business case, collect and analyze requirements, develop Rough Order of Magnitude Estimations, drive Statement of Work creation and the project approval process Communicate project status, tradeoffs, risks, and changes to stakeholders and sponsors Determine resource needs, secure internal and external resources and adjust resource assignments as needed throughout pre-sales support and delivery project. Work hand in hand with Sales, Field AE and Business Development Manager to align the goals, strategy and customer facing communication from the early stage of opportunity discovery throughout project delivery and customer success. Represent the Customers’ needs internally and give industry trend, account insights, and feedback to Offering Manager, Business development Manager, and Sales teamREQUIREMENTS
Minimum
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in Software Engineering, Application Engineering, Test Solution Design, ATE Test Development, or project management. Strong ability to work collaboratively with global stakeholders NI internally/externally. Willingness and motivation to work closely in a business setting, facing customers. Excellent communication skills in English and local language. Confident appearance and excellent presentation skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks – for self and others. Willing to travel domestically and abroad in support of pre-sales and project objectives.Advantages
NI LabVIEW and/or NI TestStand Certifications, or equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience of NI products such as PXI-based modules, VeriStand, etc. Deep knowledge or strong background in Automotive technology (AD/ADAS, battery, motor, inverter), automation test, and measurement. Experience of building a system configuration (hardware and software) based on test requirements and propose a solution to the customer PMI PMP certification Experience of team lead Business level of communication skills in Korean, Japanese and/or Chinese-
