JobOverview:

TheHND Computing Assessor will be responsible for delivering andassessing Level 4 and Level 5 modules within the Pearson BTECHigher National Diploma in Computing program. The role involvesplanning and delivering engaging lessons assessing student workproviding constructive feedback and ensuring that all assessmentsmeet the standards set by Pearson and relevant quality assuranceframeworks.


KeyResponsibilities:


CurriculumDelivery: Plan prepare and deliverhighquality lessons across various computing modules ensuringalignment with the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma inComputingcurriculum.


Assessment andFeedback: Design and implement assessmentstrategies that accurately measure student performance againstlearning outcomes. Provide timely and constructive feedback tosupport studentdevelopment.


Student Support:Offer academic guidance and support to students addressingindividual learning needs and promoting a positive learningenvironment.


QualityAssurance: Ensure all teaching andassessment practices comply with Pearsons standards and theinstitutions quality assurancepolicies.


ProfessionalDevelopment: Engage in continuousprofessional development to stay current with advancements incomputing and educational bestpractices.




Requirements

SubjectKnowledge andExpertise:


Theideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and experiencein the followingareas:


Programming:Proficiency in multiple programming languages and paradigms withthe ability to teach foundational and advanced programmingconcepts.


Networking:Understanding of network design implementation and managementincluding knowledge of protocols network security andinfrastructure.


Database Design andDevelopment: Expertise in databasemanagement systems data modelling SQL and databaseadministration.


Cyber Security:Knowledge of information security principles risk managementcryptography and ethical hackingpractices.


Software DevelopmentLifecycle: Familiarity with varioussoftware development methodologies including Agile and Waterfalland the ability to teach their application in realworldscenarios.


Data Analytics:Ability to teach data analysis techniques statistical methods andthe use of analytical tools to interpret and present dataeffectively.


EmergingTechnologies: Awareness of current trendsand developments in computing such as cloud computing artificialintelligence and the Internet of Things(IoT).



QualificationsandExperience:


A bachelors degree in Computing Computer Science or a relatedfield; a masters degree ispreferred.


Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or willingness to work towardsone.


Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA Cisco Microsoft) areadvantageous.


Experience teaching or assessing at the higher education levelparticularly within HND or similarprograms.


Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability toengage and motivatestudents.
