The Role

Job Overview:

A Solar Field Sales Executive is responsible for generating leads, closing sales, and promoting solar energy solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial clients. They must have a deep understanding of the solar industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field to achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation and Prospecting:
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through field visits, cold calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers by conducting thorough market research.
  1. Client Consultation:
  • Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of solar installations and gather necessary data.
  • Provide detailed consultations to clients, explaining the benefits of solar energy, system options, and the financial incentives available.
  1. Sales Presentations:
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Use visual aids and technical data to support the value proposition of solar energy solutions.
  1. Quoting and Proposals:
  • Create accurate and competitive quotes and proposals based on client needs and site assessments.
  • Present and explain proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
  1. Negotiation and Closing Sales:
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to close sales effectively.
  • Ensure contracts are signed and processed accurately and promptly.
  1. Relationship Management:
  • Build strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and generate repeat business.
  • Provide after-sales support to address any issues or concerns and ensure the successful installation of solar systems.
  1. Market and Industry Knowledge:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the solar energy sector.
  • Share insights and updates with the sales team and management.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales progress.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market feedback for management.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the installation and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective sales materials and strategies.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to improve products, services, and sales processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electrical Engineering) or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
