Overview

Main purpose: 

The Position would be responsible to deliver PGCS Global OT

The OT Automation Project Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems for operational technology (OT) systems. This includes, but is not limited to, SCADA systems, HMI systems, PLCs, and other industrial control systems. The OT Automation Engineer will work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business. Responsibilities

Accountability:

Provide day-to-day automation and manufacturing support to business users throughout the sites. Focus on streamlining, standardisation and improvement of the functions of these systems in the automation of manufacturing processes. Play a key role in the review, approval and execution process of validation protocols. Support capital projects, when assigned, including conceptual design, scope of work, project schedules, and status reports. When appropriate, conducts project design review and/or status meetings for sponsoring departments and management. Development and/or review of URS for process and automation systems. Support IT operations and maintenance groups throughout the organization as an escalation point for technical issues and advice Create and maintain operational as-built documentation for plant control system infrastructure. Through the change control process ensure that changes carried out on the Automation Systems do not compromise the safety, environmental or quality stance of the plant. Manage Change: Manage activities in a change project. Includes engaging stakeholders in the change effort and ensuring they ready to adopt the coming changes, measuring and reporting change progress, assessing business readiness and supporting change adoption. Support workshops and other interventions to promote Change Management initiatives throughout the organization Participates within project teams, provide technical support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection. Fault-find complex automation equipment. Prioritize multiple tasks while working to tight schedules Constantly re-evaluate the automation environment in the context of available technologies to ensure optimal efficiency and functionality through the potential adoption of improved technology solutions, inline with Global Automation standards Use systematic approaches, principles of logic and analytical techniques to define and solve problems. Evaluates and proposes technical solutions to manufacturing issues. Ensure automation systems comply with PGCS and regulatory guidelines. Maintain the validated status of production equipment and associated control systems, in accordance with cGMP requirements. Assists in developing standard data structures and methods to support the ongoing integration of plant floor manufacturing control systems. Proposes modifications to systems, equipment, processes and operations to improve safety, increase efficiency and achieve company goals. Ensure best software practices are employed so as to maximise equipment effectiveness. Provide necessary training to Engineers and Technicians as required Liaise with major equipment vendors to ensure compliance to specifications ( attend kick-off meetings, pre-FAT inspections, etc.). Develop system reporting capability to facilitate KPI reporting and incident investigation. Identify and scope out the Operational Technology and Automation elements of capex project work (budget, cost, implementation approach) when required. Responsible for preparation of specifications, proposal review, clarification meetings, technical compliance of proposal as part of tender process for all sites as part of the project roll out. Manage System Integrators and contractors responsible for discrete portions of OT work during project phases ensuring safe execution, budget control and schedule adherence Define and maintain governance for planning, prioritization, delivery and management of OT elements of the project Ensure all elements of project work comply with PGCS automation standards. Where required support the improvement or creation of new PGCS automation standards  Qualifications

Key Skills/Experience Required

Experience in Automation Validation in accordance with cGMP and GAMP Experience in the development of the following would be advantageous: Allen-Bradley PLC’s, Wonderware InTouch, Aveva Batch Manager, InSQL, Aveva System Platform, ASI, , ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet A proven track record in Project Management would be an advantage
