Job Summary:
The ITAM Reconciliation Rules Analyst - CMDB/HAM is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing reconciliation rules within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) systems. This role involves ensuring data accuracy and consistency across IT assets, improving asset tracking processes, and supporting compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT Asset Management, with a focus on reconciliation, data integrity, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation Rules Development:
    • Design, implement, and manage reconciliation rules within the CMDB and HAM systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
    • Work closely with IT and asset management teams to define reconciliation criteria based on asset lifecycle stages, attributes, and data sources.
    • Continuously refine and optimize reconciliation rules to enhance the accuracy and reliability of CMDB and HAM data.
  • Data Integrity & Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of CMDB and HAM data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Ensure that all IT hardware assets are accurately recorded and aligned with procurement, deployment, and inventory data.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate asset data and ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies.
  • CMDB & HAM Integration:
    • Ensure seamless integration between the CMDB, HAM, and other IT systems (e.g., ITSM, procurement, finance).
    • Support the implementation of automated reconciliation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual data entry.
    • Monitor data flow between systems to ensure consistent and accurate asset information across platforms.
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Ensure that reconciliation processes comply with internal governance, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Document and maintain reconciliation procedures, rules, and guidelines for reference and training purposes.
    • Provide regular reports and dashboards on reconciliation outcomes, data integrity, and compliance metrics to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with IT, operations, procurement, and finance teams to align reconciliation processes with business needs.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for reconciliation-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to stakeholders.
    • Facilitate training and knowledge sharing sessions on reconciliation rules, processes, and best practices.
  • Process Improvement & Optimization:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance reconciliation processes, improve data accuracy, and reduce the time required for reconciliations.
    • Leverage ITAM tools and platforms to automate and streamline reconciliation workflows.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to CMDB and HAM reconciliation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, with a focus on reconciliation rules, CMDB, and HAM.
  • Strong knowledge of CMDB and HAM processes, including asset lifecycle management, data integration, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with ITAM tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow) and CMDB management tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, or other relevant frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
