Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will participate in the entire project lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets all requirements. The QA Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to review design and requirements, develop test plans, and execute comprehensive testing strategies.

Responsibilities: Project Lifecycle Participation: Engage in design and requirements reviews, and develop test plans. Design and execute smoke, functional, regression, and integration test cases. Test Strategy Development: Assist in creating test strategies, test harnesses, and ongoing metrics implementation. Test Plan and Script Development: Develop and document test plans, test scripts, acceptance criteria, and User Acceptance Test (UAT) scenarios. Quality Assurance: Ensure software meets requirements with clearly defined acceptance criteria, comprehensive testing, and documented test scripts. Achieve full test coverage against requirements. Acceptance Criteria Review: Review acceptance criteria and collaborate with the QA lead and business to refine them. Write detailed test cases covering positive and negative scenarios to ensure comprehensive requirement and defect testing. Communication and Reporting: Accurately communicate testing estimates, statuses, and work towards removing project roadblocks. Maintain and report on Manual/Automation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Prioritized Testing Approach: Apply a prioritized approach to identify and address the most serious issues first. Test Script Management: Create, execute, and maintain test scripts based on business requirements, workflows, and use cases. Document and modify test scripts as requirements change. User Acceptance Testing: Assist in developing UAT scripts and work closely with the business for effective testing. Test Types Participation: Participate in various test types including Smoke, Functional, GUI, Regression, Performance, Security, Ad-hoc, System, End-to-End, Integration, Analytics, and User Acceptance Testing. Result Documentation and Analysis: Record, maintain, and archive test results. Analyze test results and defects to assess application/system quality. Track and report on defect trends, severity, and characterization. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes by analyzing bugs/issues and assessing test coverage and project execution. Troubleshooting Skills: Utilize strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Work hands-on and guide a team of analysts in test plan development and execution. Release Status Communication: Communicate application release status, including issue/defect metrics, code coverage metrics, critical path, and testing status. Organizational Skills: Track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize results. Perform peer reviews on test cases and provide feedback. Methodology Adherence: Ensure accepted methodologies and best practices are utilized for QA/testing needs. Proactively identify, manage, and recommend delivery risk mitigation strategies. QA Automation: Assess current testing efforts and provide input on QA automation. Help design, execute, and troubleshoot QA automation as needed. Application Performance: Participate in troubleshooting and performance tuning for .Net applications, working closely with development teams. End-to-End Testing: Identify and document end-to-end testing scenarios. Knowledge Transfer: Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with vendors and full-time employees. Must Have Qualifications: Proven experience in quality assurance and software testing. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with various types of testing including Smoke, Functional, GUI, Regression, Performance, Security, Ad-hoc, System, End-to-End, Integration, Analytics, and User Acceptance Testing. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple test executions simultaneously. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with QA automation tools and performance tuning for .Net applications. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
