Overview:The PlacementDirector plays a critical role in establishing and maintainingrelationships with employers to secure job opportunities forstudents and alumni. They oversee the coordination of career fairsnetworking events and oncampus interviews to facilitate studentplacements.KeyResponsibilities:
  • Develop andimplement placement strategies to meet employmenttargets.
  • Collaborate with academic departmentsto understand skill needs and employmenttrends.
  • Organize and conduct employer outreachto build partnerships and secure jobopportunities.
  • Supervise the creation anddistribution of job postings and internshipopportunities.
  • Provide career advising andsupport to students in resume writing interview preparation and jobsearch techniques.
  • Coordinate career fairsemployer information sessions and networkingevents.
  • Collect and maintain data on studentplacement and employer satisfaction.
  • Developand maintain a strong alumni network to enhance employmentopportunities for graduates.
  • Evaluate andenhance the effectiveness of placement programs through continuousimprovement efforts.
  • Provide leadership andsupervision to placement staff and studentworkers.
  • Conduct research and analysis toidentify potential employers and industrytrends.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff tointegrate career development activities into thecurriculum.
  • Manage placementrelated marketingand communication strategies.
  • Participate inprofessional development activities to stay current on industrytrends and best practices.
RequiredQualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in arelated field such as education counseling business or a relevantdiscipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience incareer services recruitment or a relatedfield.
  • Demonstrated success in building andmaintaining relationships with employers and industryprofessionals.
  • Strong understanding of careerservices employment trends and labor marketinformation.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to leadand supervise staff in a fastpacedenvironment.
  • Experience in developing andimplementing career programming andevents.
  • Proficiency in using career servicesmanagement systems and platforms.
  • Ability toanalyze data and assess programeffectiveness.
  • Demonstrated commitment todiversity equity and inclusion in careerservices.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issuesrelated to recruiting and employment.
  • Projectmanagement skills and the ability to multitask and meetdeadlines.
  • Understanding of student developmenttheories and career decisionmakingprocesses.
  • Professional certification in careercounseling or related field is aplus.
