Job description

Manage Regional breeding activities in accordance with the Business Unit (BU) R&D strategy and with : Global Breeding Director and Asia R&D manager

Direct Regional breeding programs with Breeding Coordinators and Breeders to achieve goals and objectives set during the R&D planning process which involves strategic crop reviews, research and development management reviews and crop steering councils.Actively develop regional teams and individuals (Technical, Management).Promote global interactions and exchanges with breeding programs in other regions through Crop Steering Councils sponsorshipDefine and manage the Regional breeding organization with regard to staff, budget, and technology resources associated with the development and implementation of each breeding programAct as interface with marketing teams to secure alignment of breeding programs with market needs. Lead the development strategies and breeding directions for a region and selected families of species (defined here as a group of species characterized by complimentary genetics and/or market criteria).Represent HMC R&D in the region in collaborations and partnerships with universities and Seed industryDefine the breeding organization in regard to staff, budget, and technology resources associated with the development and implementation of each breeding program.Work together with his region R&D operations manager and R&D support function by providing direction/priorities for the implementation of the breeding programs present on each species at each site. In some cases work with breeding directors from other regions to prioritize and schedule site activities in accordance with our strategies.Global strategic leadership for assigned species via crop R&D steering councils.Collaborate with other breeding directors (Regional and Global), breeding managers and relevant support groups to develop a breeding MTP and optimize the breeding process and the basic seed supply, sharing best practices, technological innovations and information system development.

Skills: what we expect of you

Minimum M.S. degree (PhD preferred)

10 years of management and product development experience, including five years of experience managing a breeding program
