Job Title: Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Developer
Remote
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Developer to join our IT team. The HAM Developer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the lifecycle of hardware assets within our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of asset management principles, hands-on experience with platforms like ServiceNow, and a proactive approach to improving asset management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Development & Customization:
    • Configure and customize the HAM module on the ServiceNow platform or similar tools to meet business needs.
    • Develop workflows, forms, dashboards, and reports to streamline hardware asset management processes.
    • Integrate HAM processes with other IT systems, such as ITSM and CMDB, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Asset Lifecycle Management:
    • Track and manage the lifecycle of hardware assets from procurement to disposal.
    • Ensure accurate asset data entry and maintenance in the HAM system, including attributes like location, status, owner, and warranty information.
    • Implement policies and procedures for hardware asset management to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that improve HAM processes.
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities within the HAM process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate them into the HAM strategy.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Create and maintain documentation for HAM processes, including system configurations, workflows, and customizations.
    • Generate and distribute regular reports on asset status, lifecycle milestones, and utilization.
    • Develop dashboards to provide visibility into the hardware asset landscape, highlighting key metrics and trends.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with procurement, finance, and IT operations teams to ensure alignment in asset management practices.
    • Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators and other developers to ensure seamless integration of HAM with other modules.
    • Support audits and compliance initiatives by providing accurate and timely asset data.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, ITIL, HAM certification) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of experience in Hardware Asset Management, with a focus on development and customization.
    • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HAM module or similar hardware asset management tools.
    • Experience in managing the full lifecycle of hardware assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other scripting languages.
    • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its capabilities, particularly in asset management.
    • Knowledge of hardware asset management principles, including inventory management, barcode scanning, and asset tagging.
    • Familiarity with ITSM and CMDB processes and best practices.
