Job Purpose

The Design Engineer is responsible to develop design and analysis of components for existing/New products of Royal Enfield . The incumbent will be responsible for Designing components and aggregates in line with vehicle package and styling requirements. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Propose design concepts, select components for Motor Controller based on vehicle requirements.
  • Good hands-on experience in design and development of Motor Controller based on vehicle packaging requirements.
  • Capable of doing first principle design calculation for estimating functionality, durability and reliability of system and components.
  • Capable of performing root cause analysis and propose design solutions with 8D approach.
  • Co-ordination within Cross-functional teams.
  • Good understanding of vehicle-level testing and component-level testing of Motor and Controller.
  • Capable of generating and realizing cost reduction, value engineering and innovative ideas.
  • Plan and steer the project adhering to time, quality and cost parameters.
  • Sound communication and presentation skills, to interact with Global partners.
  • Expertise in UG-NX - Excellent hands-on experience in 3D and 2D along with GD&T.
  • Expertise in Product data management Engineering client
  • Experience in Commercial vehicle industry.
  • Experience and Knowledge in electric vehicle.
  • Hands-on experience in DFMEA, DVP and 8D.
  • Knowledge in designing sheet metal brackets, casting brackets, forging brackets and pipes to meet functional and durability requirements.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to learn and achieve more.
  • Experience in PCB design.
  • Exposure to automotive standards for EV.


Work Experience
  • Bachelor of Engineering / Technology  (Power Electronics)
  • 10+ years Experience
  • Experience of EV motor controller design.
  • Expert in power Electronics.
  • Knowledge of motor controllers used in EV VCU’s.
