Data Quality Analyst/RulesEngineer

Job DescriptionSummary

The DQ Analyst is responsible forperforming analysis data profiling and the writing of businessrules for PayPal s critical data elements to help ensure that thedata used for reporting and analysis is accurate and reliable .Theywill partner with our Data Management and Data Engineering Teams toperform data analysis to ensure quality data across our dataproducts and analytics platform.

JobDescription

Analyze query and profile data todefine business rules in support of business process/domainobjectives
Determine business impact level for dataquality issues
Determine root cause for data qualityerrors and make recommendations for longterm solutions
Create documentation and artifacts for data quality rules enginealerting and monitoring
Perform statistical tests onlarge datasets to determine data quality and integrity
Support teams in their development of process improvements toenhance overall data quality
Identify areas ofimprovement to achieve data quality
Develop validate andimplement business rules on platforms like Big Query Hiveetc.
Experience in Python SparkSQL is a plus.

Experience :
Bachelor s Degree inComputer Science Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5years of IT experience OR in lieu of a degree a minimum of 7 yearsof hands on mixed experience in technology and processexcellence

Minimum of 2 years of experience withData Management Data Governance or Data Quality (preferably in a inbanking financial services or pharmaceuticalindustries).
Proven experience of having worked on and/ormaintaining skills in:
Data analysis data profilingquality rules definition and automation
Data qualitymeasurement and metric generation and aggregation into qualityperformance indicators
Information chain analysis andmanagement
Root cause analysis
Minimum 2 yearsof experience using data quality tools such as: Informatica AbInitio SAP SAS
SQL Programming; performance tuning or DBAexperience using SQL Server
Client facing with excellentcommunication presentation and documentation skills ability tocommunicate at all levels within business from Senior level to endusers with ability to communicate technical matters in nontechnicalbusiness terms
Strong data analysis skills acrossmultiple source systems of various formats
Intermediate/Advanced MS Office Suite skills including Power PointExcel Access Visio
Strong relationship management andinfluencing skills to build enduring and productive alliancesacross matrix organizations (bothinternal/external)
