Position Summary
NCR is evolving into a services-led organization, and our Retail team is committed to helping clients achieve their business goals through Custom Development approach.
The ideal candidate for this role will be detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines effectively, while also providing timely status updates and escalating issues as needed. They will have the ability to make sound judgments and solve problems based on their experience and expertise.
As an OmniPOS Software Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for transforming client requirements into software designs and implementing them to meet their needs. You will work specifically in the specialty retail segment of the market, serving clients with a wide variety of businesses such as jewelry stores, traditional department stores, bookstores, general merchandise stores, and more
This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products and solutions that meet our clients' needs. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing OmniPOS software features with high quality, on time, and within budget Participate in and perform peer code and design reviews Engage in traditional software development lifecycle activities such as documenting design and solution, coding, testing, and supporting the code Troubleshooting technical issues in a Microsoft Windows OS environment Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions. Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidate is expected to have work hours overlap during the US Business Hours (Eastern Time zone).Key Skills (Must-Have):
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science and/or related field required. 6+ years of professional programming experience in Windows environment . Expertise in C++ programming. OOPs, Network Programming [TCP/IP] Multi-threading Data Formats XML, Microsoft DOM Strong knowledge in SOA architecture Working experience in Windows Event Model programming Knowledge in using ODBC for DB connectivity Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Clear and concise written and verbal skills. Key Skills (Nice-to-Have):
