Your day at NTT DATA

The Security Managed Services Engineer (L2) is a developing engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their Security Infrastructures and systems remain operational.

Through the proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving of technical incidents and problems, this role is able to restore service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA) and focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity.

The Security Managed Services Engineer (L2) may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

Five (5) to ten (10) years industry experience in networking environment with an emphasis on Network Security;

• One (1) to two (2) years’ experience with Linux/UNIX;

• Basic networking technology skills along with a good understanding of cross platform technologies;

• Certified security engineer (typically CCSA or comparable);

• Certified technical engineer (typically Cisco CCNA or comparable);

• Technical ability to implement Firewall change requests and any potential related L2/L3 router changes;

• Technical ability to create and install Checkpoint objects for initial firewall policy;

• Technical ability to build and configure Firewall devices (Checkpoint, Juniper and Cisco);

• Technical ability to build and configure Proxies (McAfee, Bluecoat) and IDS;

• Technical ability to provide basic troubleshooting in security environment (Checkpoint, Juniper

and Cisco);

• Technical ability to provide basic troubleshooting for connectivity issue

• Basic understanding of Ethernet, Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, Routing (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP);

Technical ability to modifying routing protocols including NAT.

• Basic understanding of IOS/operating systems and CatOS;

• Good understanding of ITIL and service management principals;

• Good ability to follow and documented deployment processes;

• Experience with change request management systems;

• Experience with network monitoring / management tools/ analysis tools;

• Experience with liaising with carriers and vendors for installations

• Excellent analytical skills to evaluate problem

• Good communication skills, fluent in local language and English (written/verbal)

• Excellent team worker, able to work in virtual global teams in a matrix organization

Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience). Certifications relevant to services supported. Certifications carry additional weightage on the candidate’s qualification for the role. CCNA certification in must, CCNP in Security or PCNSE certification is good to have.
