Job Description for Technical Writer

Overview of Profile

Fosfor Enablement Team is looking for a technical writer to support product documentation. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in creating and managing software documentation and product demo videos.

We would love to speak to you if you have a habit of questioning existing work standards and processes and delivery to find better, faster, or cost-effective ways to do things. We would love to have you in our team if you can endeavor to exceed existing standards where quality of work is considered critical, and you can anticipate problems and work towards solutions.

As an ideal candidate, you should have 2 to 7 years of technical writing experience. As a team player, you will play a critical role to ensure that our technical documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and easily understandable for a diverse audience, that includes analysts, developers, data aficionados, ML enthusiasts, engineers, and most importantly, a business decision maker. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and transform complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

You should be able to:

• Create and maintain technical documentation including user guides, product guides, troubleshooting guides, and SDK guides.

• Develop product videos with an authoring tool.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and product managers to gather and validate information.

• Conduct thorough reviews of existing documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines such as MSTP.

• Develop and maintain a documentation style guide and templates.

• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance the quality of documentation.

• Collaborate with training teams for content creation.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality documentation.

• Strong knowledge of technical writing concepts

• Ability to work with Confluence, Jira, and any documentation authoring tool would be an added advantage.

• Must be willing to learn innovative technologies and pick up new skills.

• Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

• Proven experience as a technical writer in the IT domain, strong knowledge of IT concepts, systems, and technologies.

Technical tools knowledge required

• Proficiency with the MS-Office Suite, SharePoint, and MS Teams

• Working knowledge of content authoring tools, video editing tools (Active Presenter), content management systems, JIRA, and Confluence.

Education qualification

• Required: Graduate or PG from a recognised university

• Preferable: Certificate course relevant to technical writing

Work mode

Hybrid (Minimum two days mandatory work from office)
