About the Role

Harman Automotive is looking for a motivated and passionate Technology professional to own all technical aspects of a Connected Vehicle Service Delivery platform SDP), lead and own system architecture, make technology choices, support business development, and improve Software quality.

Key Accountabilities

Apart from owning all technical aspects of connected vehicle Service Delivery Platform as the chief architect for SDP, this role would be involved in running Offboard Compute practice, Presales, and engineering excellence.

Chief SW Architect

Catalyst for change the business for Connected Vehicle Service Delivery Platform in terms of technology maturity, quality of deliverables and differentiated offerings Aligning business and technology goals of Connected Vehicle Service Delivery Platform – considering Strategic directions, future technologies trajectories, industry / market trends and current capabilities / competencies Making technology choices, supervises the quality and implementation of designs, developing high performance architecture of Connected Vehicle Service Delivery Platform Leads software technology architecture to solve complex problems and resolve technological disagreements with informed solutions Designs software architecture policies and guidelines to manage and guide members of the Business unit Direct the quality management of Connected Vehicle Service Delivery Platform Select and use tools and repositories to collect and manage architecture information and artefacts. Define / collate best practices, methodologies, processes and tools for reuse with help of existing team and other Business units & experts group within the organization Conduct assessments for maturity of architecture, and conduct training to address gaps, new software engineering practices Conducting architecture and design reviews to ensure long term scalability, reliability, modularity and maintainability of product / platform

Offboard Compute Practice (center of Excellence)

Running Offboard Compute (Cloud) Practice organization with a defined roadmap, objectives and budget to drive business development, thought leadership, upskilling team and incubate niche technical competencies Validate industry and customer trends to plan roadmap Create service portfolio and aligned PoCs/assets on market leading technology trends for learning and customer demo Participation in conferences and consortiums. And contributing publications – white paper/blogs Review and approval of practice investment plan; Discuss and approve investment plans with AES Practice Leadership Provide assessment of Practice achievements based on metrics. Maintain and report metrics on practice progress and practice usage Conduct or arrange knowledge sharing sessions, facilitate practice communities Conduct Sales training and provide material to be turned into collaterals by presales and marketing Work with Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) Practice to define end-to-end go-to-market including both Embedded and Cloud components. Covering topics like low footprint containers, vehicle runtime orchestration, Control plane, Digital twin, and other relevant topics

Presales

Formulating and leading technical / functional solution during presales activity to prospective clients and customers. Collaborate with technical & business team members, who may only have a vague understanding of their need, to co-create a plan for executing a quality bid response. Facilitation of client RFx understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell Developing long lasting and high-quality business relationships with clients by instilling trust and confidence Working directly with clients to understand their business strategy, program requirements & processes Providing knowledge transfer to the delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from sales to delivery

Basic Requirements

Around 24 years’ experience in Architecture, Engineering Delivery, SW Quality, pre-sales and product development in Automotive SW & Services Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred. Experience of designing and building scalable and distributed software applications. Deep knowledge of Java stack, Stream messaging concepts (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, etc.), stream data processing applications design (Kafka streams, AWS Lambda, etc.), efficient and scalable data storage solutions (MongoDB, HBase, AWS DynamoDB, etc.), SQL based systems (Oracle, AWS Redshift, etc.), web application development (Java webapp, Java Spring, etc.), API gateway principles (Apigee, AWS Gateway, etc.), security concepts like oAuth2/OICD. Good understanding of containerization (docker) and execution orchestration (Kubernetes) open source frameworks. Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Tencent, Azure, Alibaba, etc.) services and APIs. Automotive relevant experience which includes working with Automotive OEMs Knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends. Knowledge of Software Engineering excellence and quality improvement initiatives Experience working in a matrix, global organization by collaborating with key stakeholders Results and detail-oriented: hold him/herself and others accountable for commitments Effective C-Level communication skills Creative problem-solver with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others.
