About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Associate with excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills to join our India Safe Water team. As a Senior Associate, you will provide administrative and operational assistance to the Program Leadership regarding the planning, internal coordination and execution of different work streams within the program. 

The Senior Associate will support overall program development, assist with internal team coordination, prepare materials and resources, communicate with relevant team members, and maintain and update accurate program records and data. Furthermore, the Senior Associate will also perform some analytical duties, such as summarizing materials, providing recommendations for decision-making, writing policy memos, etc.

This position will have considerable exposure to program delivery, strategic thinking, and leadership decision-making, so it is a great opportunity for professionals looking into a career around program implementation and project management in global health and water.

Responsibilities 

1. Program Support and Coordination:

·       Support the Program Leadership in tracking program activities against annual work plans, ensuring monitoring and reporting timelines are met.

·       Assist with planning and executing programs and events, including organizing and managing meetings, events, and conferences.

·       Help coordinate team activities to monitor work planning, achieve goals, and ensure necessary materials are available.

·       Provide administrative support for program activities, such as preparing materials, communicating with participants, and assisting with marketing campaigns.

·       Maintain and update accurate program records and databases, and prepare reports on program activities, progress, and outcomes. 

2. Program Development and Optimization:

·       Assist in managing program budgets and expenses.

·       Optimize internal knowledge management, information sharing, and communications practices to enable a growing matrixed organization.

·       Provide “surge support” to teams when needed to supplement existing bandwidth, ensure continuity of critical program needs, or enable teams to take advantage of opportunities for outsized impact. 

3. Administrative and Office Support:

·       Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing documents, greeting visitors, receiving deliveries and packages, and processing incoming mail.

·       Keep track of supplies and inventory, order new supplies when necessary, manage office calendars, send out reminders, maintain program forms and paperwork, and answer questions about program procedures.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies 

·       Bachelor’s degree in business management, project management, or a related field

·       Prior working experience of 3 years in program management or assistance is advantageous

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant tools and software

·       Excellent verbal and written communication

·       You can collaborate with teammates cross departmentally ensuring adherence to organizational norms and policies.

·       Outstanding organization and time management.

·       Flexibility to take late calls with the India Safe Water team based in the US.

EAII Advisors, Evidence Action’s technical partner in India, supports the implementation of the school and Anganwadi-based National Deworming Day program, as well as iron and folic acid supplementation programs, across 11 states by providing technical assistance to applicable state ministries of health, education, and women and child development. About India Safe Water Now   

Evidence Action’s Safe Water Now program provides safe drinking water to over 10 million people across rural Uganda, Malawi, and Kenya. Recent evidence highlights that water treatment may be among the most cost-effective interventions available to save young children's lives, reducing all-cause child mortality by about 25%. The Dispensers for Safe Water (DSW) program, based on research by a Nobel-winning economist, utilizes an innovative and human-centric design to deliver clean water at the source in rural settings, achieving usage rates which are 5x that of comparable interventions. Evidence Action recently launched a next generation technology, In-Line Chlorination (ILC) in Uganda and Malawi, targeting rural, peri-urban, and urban communities, which has the potential to be even more cost-effective. Over the past year, we’ve more than doubled our footprint in East Africa and are actively exploring opportunities for expansion into new countries.
