Data warehouse Engineer- Google Cloud Store and BigQuery, Design and development of Cloud Databases, Warehouses and Lakes

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Cloud Database Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and optimize cloud-based databases, warehouses, and data lakes to support our data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain cloud databases, warehouses, and data lakes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging services such as Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions.

Implement data modeling best practices to ensure optimal performance and flexibility in data storage and retrieval.

Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into cloud-based storage and analytical platforms.

Optimize database performance and resource utilization through indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques.

Implement data security and access controls to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud database technologies and best practices to continuously improve data infrastructure and processes.

Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams on database-related matters.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Proven experience in designing and developing cloud databases, warehouses, and data lakes on Google Cloud Platform.

Strong proficiency in Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery, including hands-on experience with data ingestion, querying, and analytics.

Experience with data modeling concepts and techniques for relational and non-relational databases.

Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.

Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices for securing data at rest and in transit.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.

Experience with other GCP services such as Cloud SQL, Dataflow, and Dataproc is a plus.
