JobDescriptionEliteCare MedicalStaffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nursefor our Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. The ideal candidatewill have a strong background in L&D nursing withexperience in triage labor and delivery recovery postpartum andnewborn stabilization.UnitOverview:

• L&DBeds: 4 (separate from postpartumbeds)
• Postpartum Beds:4
• Births: 04 per day; approximately 4050 permonth; 554 births in 2022
• Triage Capacity: OneL&D room utilized for triage
• CSectionFacilities: Csections are performed in the main OR; no dedicated ORsuites on the L&Dunit

KeyResponsibilities:

• Providehighquality nursing care to patients during labor delivery andpostpartum.
• Follow AWHONN guidelines fornursepatient ratios.
• Titrate drips includingPitocin Magnesium insulin and TXA asnecessary.
• Collaborate with OB/Neonatologistsand other healthcare providers; oncall supportavailable.
• Monitor and assess the condition ofboth mothers and newborns ensuring proper stabilization andcare.
• Document patient information accuratelyusing the Obix documentation system and GE monitors for electronicfetalmonitoring.

Qualifications:

• RequiredCertifications:
• Basic LifeSupport (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program(NRP)
• Preferred: AWHONN Intermediate orAdvanced EFM ACLSStable
• ExperienceRequirements:
• Must haveexperience in triage labor and delivery recovery postpartum careand newborn stabilization.
• Charge nurseexperience ispreferred.
• Skills:
• Abilityto read telemetry strips; RNs are responsible for their ownreadings.
• Strong assessment and criticalthinking skills.

TeamStructure:

• Nursingaids available but not scheduled everyday.
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor will ideallynot take an assignment out ofstaffing.

AdditionalInformation:

• There isno inhouse OB/Neonatologist or Anesthesia; both are available oncall 24/7.
• Respiratory Therapy equipmentincluding Neopuff CPAP and HiFlow is available foruse.
