What will you do?

The role will work closely with a team of Senior Developers, Designers team in ASCI and Canada in a mix of waterfall, Kanban and iterative development methodologies to design and develop the modules by understanding the current technical landscape of the portfolio. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our fast paced and high performing Engineering team to support our digital transformations. You will use your engineering prowess and experience in building out data products that will be exposed via APIs and events to help us deliver core data, application pipelines and frameworks to provide great digital experiences to our clients The successful candidate will be an adaptable individual, who thrives on technical challenges & problem solving, is open to change and enjoys driving projects to successful completion. The candidate should be able to contribute to Application Development Strategy, Design standards and best practices.

Your scope of work / key responsibilities:

Provide design and development delivery within projects that is efficient, functional and maintainable. Apply analysis skills to understand and assess the impact of infrastructure and technical changes within the environment. Create required design and development documentation and participate in both design and code reviews. Provide oversight to developers for both project delivery. Communicate effectively with operations managers, project managers, BSAs, designers and developers to solve technical issues and problems. Learn about our internal clients’ business, existing applications, the infrastructure that supports them and the design patterns used. Provide development and infrastructure estimates at various levels of a project to match the architectural solution. Ensure SLF Information Security Policies are complied to in any solution.

Key Qualifications and experience

A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 3 to 5 years of experience in development of complex systems based on J2EE framework. Aware of the Software Development Life Cycle and Quality concepts. Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Back end Technologies : Java 1.8, J2EE, SOA ( SOAP and REST webservices), , Hibernate/JPA, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring-Data, Spring Batch, JUNIT4/5, Mocking, XML, SQL , DB2 – Experience on Microservices will be nice to have. DevOps Tools: Maven. Gradle, Git with Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube. Other Tools – JIRA. Hands on experience in Tomcat or Weblogic/Liberty Websphere servers.

Technical Credentials: Java 1.8, J2EE, SOA ( SOAP and REST webservices), , Hibernate/JPA, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring-Data, Spring Batch, JUNIT4/5, Mocking, XML, SQL , DB2.
