Overview

The Circular Cloud Supply Chain (CCSC) team under the Cloud Supply Chain (CSC) team is at the center of the company’s Circular Economy strategy for Azure data center hardware. CCSC manages the end to end disposition of Data Center (DC) hardware originating from decommissions, excess & overage from Spares, & Deployment as well as special dispositions throughout the company. The capacity needed to support Microsoft Cloud decommissions is undergoing explosive growth (100%+ y/y) as customers around the world realize the benefits of moving their services and applications to cloud based platforms. This explosive growth requires us to build out capacity on a global scale to keep up with demand. The CCSC organization provides the core infrastructure needed for dispositioning the Data Center (DC) hardware. The CCSC organization manages the after decommission disposition routes. This Program Manager role will assist with managing day to day operations, maximize cost avoidance & revenue return for Microsoft while supporting sustainability efforts.

Candidates will utilize the latest technology to manage disposition of global data center hardware. The cloud business is rapidly evolving, and the device shift coupled with the emergence of new solutions is changing the way that people access, use, and purchase cloud-based services. With the speed at which it’s growing, the current process must grow and scale as well. This is an opportunity to drive our asset disposition business. This will require a proactive leader who can help innovate to support the current changing landscape to drive the business in support of scaling global operations. This is your opportunity to lead and develop our strategy in hardware disposition (reuse, remarketing, and recycling). 

Qualifications

Recommended Qualifications:

8+ years experience in Supply chain or Sourcing, along with Strategy, Sustainability, and business planning experience are preferred 2+ years Program Management experience End-to-end Project Management experience Self-starter with strong analytical skills; strong business judgement and acumen Excellent problem structuring, identification, and resolution with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

The Program Manager role is focused on providing thought leadership for IT Asset Disposition Supplier Relationship Management and Operations. You will work with Engineering, Finance, Compliance, and Sourcing to drive the daily business as well as initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close on special projects and pilots for innovation and automation as needed. You will craft recommendations for process improvement and drive the implementation of your recommendations to completion.

Commitments for this role include:

Driving business strategy: Implement and drive business strategies for CCSC specific to reuse and remarketing of DC hardware with an eye towards risk, sustainability, compliance, revenue maximization and operations. Channel Development and Operations (CDO). Establish new disposition channels globally that will add more value in terms of reuse, recycling and revenue generation. Provide operations support for these new channels.
