The role of Principal Engineer - DevOps provides technical or infra leadership to effectively define, design, execute Devops strategy and drive quality assurance for new and existing components of the PSS/GSS portfolio.

This position is based out of Bangalore and reporting to the Software Manager for PSS/GSS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategize, design, develop & implementation of Devops activities, Work across program and Maintains reusable and scalable CI/CD framework. Lead the impact assessment of design changes at project/ platform level and identify the infra need, identify the tools need, identify the business direction and drive the global roadmap of continuous integration and delivery. Stay abreast of innovation and new technologies in DevOps, CI/CD, test automation and test methodologies. Establishes a performance monitoring and metrics-driven methodology that ensures speed and uptime of all applications and infrastructure are quantified, tracked and managed. Work closely with software engineers, Architect, Product Owner and other stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle starting from product concept till maintenance. Drive the initiative to simplify the developer and tester operational problems.

Your Team:

You will be reporting to Software Manager for PSS/GSS . This position does not have any direct reports. You will need to work collaboratively with R&D and cross functions. 

Your Location:

The role is located in the BRD facility in Bangalore India. 

What You’ll Bring:

Expertise and hands-on experience in DevOps, Automation, Microservices, Containerization, PAAS, IaaS, Build and Release Engineering, Configuration Management, Cloud Infrastructure Automation includes Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Strong experience in Deployment vis the Azure platform implementation including Security, Compute, Containers, Storage, Azure Network Experience with Azure Repos/ GITHUB , branching, code review and code analysis tools Hands-on experience with various DevOps tools and technologies, including Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Jira, or Git source control and build tools. Monitoring of services with App Insights, Azure monitor. experience in IT Infrastructure & Azure / AWS Cloud designing, and delivering complex Infra & Cloud Solutions Expert of Azure Kubernetes Services - namespaces, clusters, nodes, ingress ( nginx), mounting files, managing secrets Expert in Helm charts - packaging the module and deploying through Helm, managing repositories, secretes, custom helm charts etc. Excellent troubleshooting skills in Kubernetes example - time out issues, service down, pod and ingress level troubleshooting, horizontal and vertical pod scaling, Performance testing of pods for resources etc. Knowledge and experience in Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Container Registries is preferred Strong knowledge and experience on Azure PaaS and IaaS services such as Azure Storage account, Azure File Shares, Azure Virtual machines management and deployment Expert in Kubernetes, writing docker files, creating pipelines to deploy on Kubernetes services ( AKS) through HELM CHART Hands-on experience in installing AKS Kubernetes cluster through Helm or terraform abd experience managing builds and releases in Azure DevOps Work with developers & Cloud Infra team to identify necessary Application infrastructure in Azure Design & implementation of application hosting environment in Azure Kubernetes service, Container, Azure VM & Azure PaaS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Tools like Terraform, Ansible etc Experience with Azure Repos, branching, code review and code analysis tools Strong experience Git bucket, JIRA, Confluence etc Monitoring of services with App Insights, Azure monitor and Aws, Prometheus, Grafana , Kibana dashboard , ELK, splunk Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash Knowledge of Linux, Windows server, Monitoring tools, and Shell scripting

Good to have :-

DevOps Lead with expertise in Azure/ GITHUB pipelines, defining DevOps strategies, branching merging strategies, experience with PowerShell & Bash Expert in Azure Cloud - service bus, CosmosDb, its configurations, event management, App services, Azure management SQL etc. Excellent troubleshooting skills in Azure cloud. Solid conceptual understanding of infrastructure and technology stack for achieving HA and DR ready implementations. Advanced understanding of core TCP/IP v4 network concepts to provide in segregated network environment (intranet/DMZ/extranets). This would include understanding of DNS, routing, load balancing, firewall/ACLs, etc.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors / Master’s in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field. 10+ years of related experience.
