ISS MI is actively looking for a Senior Associate to join the Mumbai Team (Goregaon East).

Overview:

ISS Market Intelligence Research forms part of the Market Intelligence (MI) division of ISS.

ISS MI provides critical data and insights to global asset managers, insurance companies and distributors, to help make informed, strategic decisions to manage and grow their business. Through its combination of proprietary and integrated datasets, in-depth global research and trusted executive engagement, ISS MI delivers solutions for market sizing, competitor benchmarking, product strategy and opportunity identification across a wide range of financial products including funds, annuities, insurance, mortgages, and other instruments. The ISS MI suite of solutions encompasses the industry-leading data platforms: Simfund, BrightScope and Financial Clarity; as well a full collection of global research and analytics services, including Investor Economics, Market Metrics, and Plan for Life.

Responsibilities:

Drawing from powerful proprietary data platforms, this position will plan, execute and deliver data-driven, solutions via advanced analytic techniques. The expected outcome of the analysis is to either help clients identify product and distribution opportunities or improve existing internal methodologies and harness the power of our data. The Senior Associate will also work closely with internal product teams to help drive content and our overall growth strategy. This role provides candidates with a unique opportunity to work directly with internal stakeholders in assessing competitive positioning, market and product strategy, distribution, and intermediary behavior.

Specifically on a day-to-day bases the analyst responsibilities could encompass the following:

Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data across varied datasets to derive actionable insights that our clients will use to inform decisions on product development, distribution strategies, service improvements, and marketing campaigns.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their strategic needs.

Integrate data to create a unified view that can be used for comprehensive analysis.

Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling to identify trends and patterns.

Design and produce insightful charts and visualizations that clearly communicate findings and trends.

Assist with ad hoc analysis requested by internal and external stakeholders

Contribute to enhancing product menu, deliverable architecture, data warehouses, analytics, and methodologies

Improve existing analytic techniques and develop new directions

Ensure content consistency across all relevant research products and reports

Vet data to ensure integrity and rigor

Monitoring and the competitive landscape. This includes tracking and understanding competitors' research activities, product developments, and market strategies

Proactively share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with global ISS MI Research team, on a formal and informal basis.

Qualifications:

The ISS MI Research environment is best suited to self-starting, highly motivated individuals who are able to deal with the pressures of learning/researching, developing analyses and delivering research outputs within specific timelines.

Candidates should have:

An undergraduate or graduate degree from a well-recognized university in economics, finance, commerce, business administration. Other disciplines such as mathematics, statistics or social sciences will be considered in combination with experience.

1-2 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Interest in the financial services industry at large and passion and strong personal motivation for growing knowledge about MI and industry data sets.

Advanced Data Analysis: Proficient in using statistical methods and data analytics to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Expertise in Programming Languages and Analytic tools: Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Python, R Power BI and/or Tableau for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.

Robust Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle challenging issues with innovative solutions and a results-oriented approach.

Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strategic Thinking: Capacity to understand and anticipate business needs and translate them into actionable data-driven strategies.

Collaborative Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse team environments, contributing to a collaborative work culture.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail in all aspects of data handling and reporting

Must be proficient in standard office software, (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

Strong command and understanding of MS Excel and working knowledge of databases is an asset.

Sense of responsibility for deadlines and deliverables.

The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Excellent problem-solving skills.
