Role description: 

Responsible for managing the technical aspects of larger and more complex tasks or project components, ensuring they meet financial, quality, timeframe, and health and safety objectives. Manages elements of larger projects in line with Arcadis management systems to achieve time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets. Typically oversees medium-sized and moderately complex tasks in a single discipline, coordinating and managing teams of engineers and technicians within the same discipline. May undertake a Task Management Role in accordance with Arcadis Task Manager Academy competence requirements. Committed to maximizing internal stakeholder satisfaction, championing care, and proactively collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Role accountabilities:

Promote and role model Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work. Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioral framework and work alongside team leadership to promote the business culture. Manage and take accountability for the performance and behaviors of more junior staff. Work collaboratively with related design disciplines within an agreed engineering management environment to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution. Maintain strong working relationships with senior staff in Arcadis GECs and regional offices to understand the wider company perspective. Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and consolidate personal credibility in the company. Oversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a team, ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized. Provide technical advice to team members to support them in their project delivery and professional development, ensuring effective financial and management controls are in place. Manage quality assurance and feedback from Arcadis regional offices, ensuring effective communication of any changes or modifications. Develop effective working relationships with Project Directors or Managers in Arcadis regional offices to ensure effective communication of progress and changes, as well as issue resolution.

Knowledge & Experience:

Must have at least 5 years of working experience in US projects and able to lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members. Capable of exercising sound holistic independent judgment, taking responsibility for their own performance and that of junior team members. Able to understand and comply with the Code of Conduct operated by the professional institution and engage with activities promoted by it. Demonstrate appropriate professional standards, recognizing obligations to society, the profession, and the environment, and exercise responsibilities in an ethical manner. Communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing, and manage diversity issues. Possess sound knowledge of legislation, hazards, and safe systems of work, and understand how to manage health, safety, and welfare within their area of responsibility. Experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied disciplines, backgrounds, and cultures, and capable of contributing to continuous improvement and sustainable development practices.

Qualification:

Masters Degree in Engineering and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer (if required in their Arcadis GEC country). Possess 10-15 years of relevant professional experience.
