Senior Application Engineer(SAP ABAP/CDS)

About the role:

As an application engineer you would develop and maintain ABAP-based functions with business logic as well as however also support various interfaces into our SAP platform. You will optimize these programs, and put a strong emphasis on operations, system maintenance and automation as well. Working together with our SAP basis team you will further optimize the performance of our application across both HANA database as well as application servers.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with functional teams and Business Analysts to understand business specifications and translate them into a solid and integrated solution design. Implement ABAP programs or CDS views according to specification Adhere to best practices and coding standards both for new code as well as continuously improve existing code base Implement unit test coverage for the core functionalities Drive system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner Provide technical expertise and support to project teams during all phases of the software development life cycle Document technical designs, specifications, and configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing ABAP programs and SAP HANA CDS Views to ensure optimal system performance Work closely with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operation and performance of SAP systems

About the team:

The FPSL subledger liability is an international product team consisting of experienced professionals with varying backgrounds. We provide the platform to perform global and local closings in IFRS for (re)insurance contracts. The core of this platform is an SAP solution embedded into an evolving landscape to enrich the data provided to us and ultimately produce financial statements for the quarterly finance closing process

Flexibility and curiosity play a role in your ability to learn new skills quickly. You work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. You have a curious mindset to continuously learn and improve both your skills as well as the SAP solution.

Essentials

University degree in computer science, information technology or related field Minimum five years of experience in ABAP development with a strong understanding of SAP HANA CDS Views and AMDP table functions Demonstrated ability to optimize system performance through the use of performance tuning techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Motivation to work in international and culturally diverse team Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication in English

Nice to Haves

Previous experience with SAP Bank Analyzer or even FPSL Knowledge of modelling techniques Experience with Agile ways of working (SCRUM/Kanban)
