Cloudera is looking for an accomplished Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to play a key role in advancing Cloudera’s product offerings. In this role, you will be at the intersection of two hot areas in today’s technical landscape: Cloud and Big Data.

Over the past few years, Cloudera has experienced tremendous growth, making us the leading contributor to the Hadoop ecosystem and a leading provider of enterprise solutions for Big Data. The purpose of this team is to accelerate Cloudera’s next stage of growth by enabling our customers to unlock the full potential of the cloud. On this team, you will be immersed in many exciting, innovative technologies and projects that will be critical to our customers’ data management needs in the cloud.

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will:

Continuously evaluate and improve existing CI/CD pipelines and processes.

Responsible for multiple infrastructure environments ' development, staging, production.

Utilize deep knowledge of reliability engineering, distributed systems, and industry best practices to improvise on operability of services

Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analysis skills and best practices.

Influence product roadmap for delivering reliable services to customers

Innovate and integrate new processes and/or technology to significantly add value. 

Identify how the cost of change weighs against the benefits and advise accordingly.

We’re excited about you if you have:

10+ years industry experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Software Engineering role.

Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker,ArgoCD or others.

Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and code branching strategies.

Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

Solid understanding of software development and SDLC processes.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their DevOps services.

Excellent problem-solving, collaboration skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

You may also have:

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Knowledge of security best practices in CI/CD.

Experience with GitOps practices.

Experience deploying and/or managing large scale environments.
