Summary & Purpose of the Role:
Lubrizol’s portfolio of engine lubricant products is designed to meet the needs of consumers and the stringent performance demands of OEMs, Industry specifications and lubricant suppliers around the world. The primary purpose of this role is to position Lubrizol Engine Lubricant Technology at the customer interface in partnership with our commercial team supporting India Middle East and Africa (IMEA) Region.
This role provides technical support and manages product development projects for assigned customer and OEM accounts in the Passenger Car and commercial vehicles lubricant area. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of managing multiple technical projects, have strong interpersonal and communications skills, and work well in teams.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their technical expectations and use those learnings to develop project and product development plans consistent with stakeholder expectations.
  • Translate customer/OEM technical needs into technical plan then lead to implement that project plan in timely, cost-efficient manner. 
  • Optimize product platform and complete necessary testing to develop commercialized products for OEM’s and oil company customers.
  • Develop and execute relevant project plans (scope, objectives, milestones, resources, and economics) and manage Projects to demonstrate proof of performance through bench testing, engine testing, and field testing.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to customers, delivering strong problem-solving capabilities and addressing any support requests in a responsive and timely manner.
  • Build and maintain customer/OEM relationship to deliver products that meet or exceed their expectations and business strategic plans.
  • Work with sales and OEM group to develop customer relationships and communicate customer goals to internal stakeholders.
  • Conducting product approval testing programs in accordance with industry guidelines that meet customer, OEM, and industry requirements.
  • Effectively manage multiple technical activities simultaneously.
  • Effectively communicate status reports on projects and customer activities to management and stakeholders through timely and comprehensive reporting and presentations.
  • Represent Lubrizol’s interests by creating and delivering formal presentations at customers, industry meetings, and technical forums.
  • Act as an integral member of the Engine Lubricants team, by developing excellent and effective working relationships with the commercial, technical and sales teams.
  • Accurately collate, interpret, and present data. Develop solutions based on facts, data, and logical assumptions.
  • Work with internal and external test laboratories to ensure sufficient resource allocation for business.

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field with five years overall work experience in technical service/similar role.
  • Effective project management experience, including project economics and general knowledge of statistics.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with technical support services and understand their inter-relationship and value to the commercial groups.
  • Ability to work effectively in multifunctional, global teams.
  • Experience of managing projects and effective prioritisation
  • Experience of complex technical projects with analysis and interpretation of data from a variety of sources to solve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time and to participate in global discussions as needed (evening meetings)
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
