Qualifications: ▪ Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field, supply chain management or equivalent.

Experience ▪ 12-14 years minimum experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related product/process.

▪ Project management experience and related customer program experience a plus.

▪ Dana product knowledge preferred

 ▪ Deep understanding of various cost models, Should Costing, Directional Costing, Benchmarking etc.

▪ Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and components like Castings, Forgings, Sheet metal, Plastic and Electrical & Electronics and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs.

▪ Good organizational, team building, problem solving, planning, decision-making & interpersonal skills.

▪ Understanding of engineering prints and models is required.

▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

▪ Must be willing to travel locally and internationally as needed and work non-normal business hours

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall local customer projects – maintain running Top 10 VAVE

• Support drive to closure of identified ideas through the Product Development Team process.

• Support purchasing “white board” quote activities for accuracy and speed to delivery of commodity analysis in collaboration with cost and process engineering.

• Maintain reliable and accurate data related to raw materials, processes, machines, labor rates etc. relevant to the scope of work

 • Work with all BU cross functional teams to achieve cost targets for NPD & existing products

. • Lead and perform platform based “Should Cost” activities through cost breakdown comparisons.

• Analyze supplier manufacturing process, infrastructure and quotes and provide arguments with data to aid communication with suppliers and customers and achieve cost optimization.

• Support supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs. • Alignment and linkage support with Savings Tracker engagement of purchasing organizations.

• Perform Reverse Proforma analysis to aid the team in delivering timely response to customer request for quotation.

• Quote analysis activities including maintenance and update of aPriori analysis forms, alignment with Cost & VE Manager.

• Collaborate with buyers to enhance best practices in the supplier process by drawing on past expertise.

• Facilitate activity that broadens the knowledge base for the purchasing team to engage the supply base on “should cost” and comparable/competitive cost models.

• Maintain metrics to track cost savings, “should cost” wins and yearly cost saving targets established with leadership and aligned to business unit goals.

• Review and track weekly findings of the team on potential manufacturing cost savings and direct necessary actions for improvement through supplier discussion and customer approvals if applicable.

• Monitor, track and revision control of global material price indexes for all regions across all business units.

• Support of Global COE activities across all business units globally.

• Monthly report out of global new business opportunity through competitive cost models along with cost savings progress, opportunities found in manufacturing and status of design standard updates.
