Job Description: JobSummary:
  • The Production Supervisor oversees themanufacturing operation manages employees plans and makes changesaccording to production schedule promotes safety supports andcommunicates company goals rules and standards to employees.Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
Summary of Duties:
  • Assumesresponsibility for the development and implementation of effectiveproduction Department planning policies and procedures.
  • Assists SeniorManagement in developing short and long term goals and objectivesand provides suggestions and recommendations.
  • Participates in developingDepartment policies and procedures and ensures that they supportand complement Companywide strategic objectives.
  • Conducts periodic reviews ofexisting policies. Ensures that policies are updated and inaccordance with evolving production and quality standards.
  • Assumesresponsibility for the efficient timely and accurate completion ofProduction functions.
  • Oversees production and assembly processes. Supervisesassembly inspection and shipment of products.
  • Monitors and supervisesproduction quality and inspection of products. Identifies problemsand resolves them quickly and effectively.
  • Regulates work flow to ensure maximumproduction capacity. Monitors the floor production schedule toensure that products are completed according to deadlines.
  • Ensures thatProduction functions are completed in accordance with establishedproduction safety and quality standards.
  • Effectively supervises assigned personnelensuring optimal performance
  • Provides leadership through effective goal settingdelegation and communication.
  • Directs and assigns personnel. Provides assistance andsupport as needed.
  • Trains advises and counsels employees on currentproduction methods. Provides suggestions to improve performance andproductivity.
  • Conducts performance appraisals as required. Formulatesand implements employee corrective actions as needed.
  • Assists with personnel decisionsincluding hiring terminations wage decisions and promotions.
  • Assumesresponsibility for maintaining effective communication coordinationand working relations with Company personnel and management.
  • Works closely withpurchasing and engineering departments to maintain schedules andimplement changes and revisions in operational procedures.
  • Provides assistanceand support to related departments as required.
  • Keeps management informed of areaactivities and of any significant problems.
  • Assumes responsibility forrelated duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensures that work area is clean secure andwell maintained.
  • Stays informed of developments and changes in productiontechniques and methods.
  • Performs production duties as needed.
  • Completes special projects asassigned.
Qualifications: Education:
  • Associate degree orequivalent experience (2 years)
Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of production proceduresstandards and knowledge of Quality Control Standards and systems.
Experience:
  • 7 or more years ofexperience in manufacturing environment plus 2 years of leadershipexperience in a manufacturing environment
ComputerSkill:
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word Excel emailERP system.
Other Skills:
  • Well organized planning and time management skillsquality oriented problem solving. Ability to lead teams conductmeetings give direction/delegate and train/coach/mentor employees.
Additional Preferred Skills: (not required)
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in amanufacturing environment
  • 3 or more years of leadership experience in amanufacturing environment
